Wortley Wobble 2018 Evening Series 2/3

Wortley is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, South Yorkshire and is mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book as Wirtleie. Wortley grew up as a settlement where the Sheffield to Halifax road crossed the Cheshire to Rotherham route. In 1250, a Sunday market was briefly established, but this was quickly suppressed by the monks who owned the right to hold markets in Barnsley.
Duncombe Park, Helmsley 2018

Duncombe Park is a hidden gem, situated in the heart of the Yorkshire town of Helmsley it provides a magnificent setting to clock up the miles and experience another event from Its Grim Up North Running. The vast park land is both beautiful and challenging, with a distance to suit all abilites this new race captures the essence of our events 'Beautiful Races in Beautiful Places.
Beeston 10K 2018

Beeston is first mentioned in the Domesday Book as Bestone, which comes from the Old English, ‘Bent Grass’. In the medieval period Beeston was associated with sheep farming and the monks of Kirkstall Abbey grazed 240 sheep there. Beeston is of course home to Elland Road and was formley the home of the Waddington family, the board and card manufacturer ‘monopoly’.
Northern Jumble 2018

Starting in the lovely town of Slaithwaite enjoy an autumnal out and back run along the narrow Huddersfield Canal. With a reduced price and a choice of 5K, 10K, half marathon,marathon or ultra there is a distance for every ability. On completing the chosen distance receive one of the medals designed for its Grim Up North Running and updated with a Northern Jumble Ribbon.
Kirkstall Abbey Trail Running Festival 2018

We’ll play amongst the ruins of a creepy haunted place, where thorns on brambles grab us in a witch’s cold embrace. Tendrils, try to catch us, so we crawl by on our knees. Then run towards the Abbots cell, just by the conker trees. The black of rooks and ravens, are they witches in disguise, they watch us very closely with their beady shiny eyes... Diana Leighton
Holme Pierrepont Three & Six Hour Challenge 2019

Nottingham Forrest and the famous folk story of Robin Hood is the first thing that comes to mind. For most people when the city of Nottingham is mentioned however the city holds far more then this Including the fabulous Holme PierrePont country park. Well known for acres of countryside and fantastic activities this creates the perfect setting for Grim Up North Running to ‘go on tour’ and hold another six-hour challenge.
