Settle Road Race
Settle is a beautiful market town in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, it is serviced with a nearby Railway Station in Giggleswick. Settle is a vibrant and bustling town, with lots of bars, restaurants, shops, galleries and of course accommodation. If any of you have ever walked or ran the Yorkshire 3 peaks then you will probably be familiar with Settle as all the 3 peaks are within a few miles of Settle so wonderful walking country.
This undulating road race is in it's second year and combines the challenge of some steep hills with the stunning surroundings that will provide a distraction. Enjoying the safety of the road been closed all three distances will have a staggered start, all will leave from Settle Swimming pool who will be supported by some monies raised from this event. UKA approved and chip timing means this race will count to any championships or club targets.
A bespoke medal and goody bag will be waiting for you at the end of the race as well as our famous home made cakes
Settle is also famous for the Settle to Carlisle Railway which is a beautiful route and the Ribblehead Viaduct with its 24 arches is surely one of the wonders of Yorkshire if not England.
Overlooking the town of Settle is Castleburgh an impressive 300 ft Limestone Crag which flies the England Flag all the time.
The Best known Cafe in Settle is called the Naked Man Cafe, not sure why as I have never seen a naked man in there but check it out for yourself. Oh I could go on about Settle because its is such a lovely place but I wont... Did I mention Mark Harding lives in Settle?
