We love this one, set in the village of Masham, nestled in the Yorkshire Dales. Masham not only hosts one brewery but 2 brewerys, The original brewery is Theakstons and one of the brother broke away and set up his own brewery only metres away and of course called it Black Sheep. Grim boasts all things Black Sheep when it comes to this event, Black Sheep Sausages on the BBQ, Black Sheep beer and cake made with, you guessed it Black Sheep. Oh not to forget the Black Sheep bespoke medal.
The course is a 3.55 mile loop and you can do as many, or as few loops as you want during the 3 hour or 6 hour challenge, your loops will be counted and you can make them up to a half marathon, marathon or how many miles you are feeling on the day. The course itself is made up of trail, field, woodland, road, golf course and park, so it's varied, be warned though to add to the effort there are quite a few stiles sprinkled around the course. This a marvellous day out for runners and walkers of all abilities, lace them runners up and take your time or go like the clappers, the choice is yours.
You can park in the field where the race starts/finishes and registration takes place, please bring a contribution for parking which goes into the villages local charitable causes. Cash only please.
You'll find us in the field near Masham Sports Club.

There is a water and feed station every lap, so we'll keep you hydrated and fed. The route is well sign posted and our marshals will be on the route, looking after you and encouraging you. When you finished, stay a while, eat, drink and chat, that's what Grim is all about, bringing people together and having a great day out.
Please note that bibs will be given out on the day of registration.

During the race important things to note:
We try to be cup-less: Our feed stations are normally around every three miles and offer drinks and a range of food, but please bring your own re-usable cup or bottle.
Headphones: Most of our courses are off-road, but we still prefer you not to wear earphones, and due to on-course incidents, we have taken the decision to ban large over-ear headphones. These block out any other sounds and don't allow runners to hear marshals, vehicles, or other users of the route. If you do need to wear earphones, then please use bone conducting earphones or "one in one out" in-ear pieces. Please note there may will be unmarshalled road crossings.
Transfers/Deferrals: You can self-serve your transfer or deferral on this website or “Let’s Do This,” depending on where you booked. Please try not to change your event or details on the day as it causes delays and queues at registration. Defers are only allowed up to 48 hours before the event, this you can do yourself online.
