It had its good points and bad
The running overall was great with friendly Marshall’s and a clear fun course route. There was sweet food supplied for dietary requirements which was great to see but no hot dogs

Favourite run of the year.
The black sheep challenge is my favourite run of the year. You decide the distance, you decide the number of laps and you enjoy the elaborate refreshments table every lap! Everyone is friendly - Marshall’s, organisers and other runners. Super supportive and welcoming to new runners. And the scenery is fantastic, I would recommend this event to any runner. Already counting down the days to next years race!

An amazing 3ish mile loop for as many times as you can
Covers for the water and salt/gels if available? Loved the spread of food options at the end. Oh a toilet on the loop would have been amazing.

A challenging run!
A well run event. Helpful team and lovely fellow runners who were very supportive when I had cramps! My only complaint would be that the part of the course along the riverside just before the golf course was very overgrown and difficult to run! It’s not a long stretch and perhaps the overhanging branches could be trimmed back prior to race.
Great sausage bun and cakes at the end!

Technical
A really well organised event . Friendly Marshall's and runners . Mainly trail with a few tarmac road sections . Mostly flat, but some narrow challenging overgrown paths but that adds to the fun . At finish line you received a medal , sausage sandwich which was freshly cooked and a bottle of black sheep ale or beer . What’s not to love

Challenging but really enjoyable!
I really enjoyed today’s run.
The format is great. Each lap is about 3.4 miles and you simply do as many (or as few) as you want before the relevant cut-off, so there’s no pressure and it suits runners of all abilities.
The Grim team were all super friendly, and every runner I chatted to was lovely, too. The snacks and drinks at the end of each lap were great, and finishing with a medal, a beer and a sausage butty was fantastic!
The course is reasonably flat, but there are plenty of narrow, overgrown sections, along with 6–8 stiles and gates to get over each lap. That’s not a negative at all – it’s just worth knowing that this is much more of a trail run than a fast, runnable course.
As a heavier and slower runner, I’m always conscious that I’m near the back, but it doesn’t seem to matter at all as everyone is made to feel welcome, there’s no pressure, and the atmosphere is great.
I’ll definitely be back for another one. Thanks to everyone involved for putting on such a friendly, well-organised event.

Great event- a bit challenging!
Lovely atmosphere and well organised. Marshalls were friendly and helpful. Course is varied and quite challenging! Although mostly flat there's quite a few stiles to get over and some parts are very narrow with overgrown plants- maybe wear long socks! Excellent treats throughout.

Fabulous event
We really enjoyed this event, we slept in! Turned up with minutes to spare. The event was so chilled and friendly and we felt instantly at ease after a stressful morning. Route was beautiful, snacks were fabulous, volunteers were really welcoming and friendly. Thanks guys for a great Sunday morning.

Tough but friendly
Technical route in parts, bit over overgrown which was hard. But overall a lovely route. Goodies were fab, especially the pineapple cake. Great medal, sausage bun and a beer
Charlotte Ryng
Great experience! No pressure; just good fun.

Super friendly organisers and volunteers. Great atmosphere. Great goody bag and feed station.

Great atmosphere
The atmosphere was great, everybody supporting each other. The marshalls were also lovely and very supportive. An enjoyable course too. Slight negatives were the toilets and bottleneck at the start (perhaps staggered starts would work better). But overall, really enjoyed the day and would definitely enter again.

Great Event
Friendly event that is well organised. 3.5m loop which worked perfect for refuelling at the end of every lap. Only slight issue was some of the tracks were very overgrown with weeds and plants which made them a bit slower but that's not the organisers fault. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely low key event.
The course was varied and easy to follow. Only one slight hill but that was on tarmac. The medal was fantastic and the sausage sandwich and cake absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend this event.

If you want a challenge, this is the one!
I love a GRIM event. They are just so inclusive of all runners, jeffers, walkers and celebrate everyone. The atmosphere is always incredible and you are more than just a race number. Thank you for being amazing as always Grim Gang xxx
