Nice race
I ran the marathon didtance. Expected it wouldn't be exact 26.2 miles but it turned out to be 27, which seems too big a difference. I felt there should have been marshalls where the path was blocked and watching out for the runners crossing the busy road. Feed stations were not every 3 miles as advertised. Despite these issues I enjoyed it!
Lovely race as always, fantastic medal, well stocked feed stations and Lovely to get to say farewell to Hillary
For some reason with grim up north my name is down as Thornton Cleveleys, that's my clubs name my name is Brian Cumpsty, doing wuthering heights in a couple of weeks so hopefully you see this before then and it can be changed before race day
Hi Brian, That is what you’ve put on your entry form, if you log onto our website you should be able to change
Great atmosphere and running route
I'd just say that clearer directions for registration would have been helpful
The bling was excellent!
Having some big events you can see how simple the GUN events are - collection of race numbers on the day, having to wear an ankle bracelet with the timing chip in it instead of on your race number and no actual route that is close for just runners - but even without such things, this was a good race.
Route was nice - all canal which meant it wasn’t overly busy with general public. Not huge turnout which made listening to the pre-start briefing easier (organisers mic kept tripping out she the poor chap had to shout), but still enough to make it a decent event.
Post run goodies were excellent. Tea, Coffee, cans of pop, crisps, chocolate bars and slices of various cakes and to top it off some new bling which was large, nicely designed and solid, which is really why we all take part!!
Overall, so glad we (myself and my friend who was running her first official race) entered and will enter more by GUN for sure.
Fantastic event, very well organised
