Good stuff

First time running a GUN event, more info on website would have been useful and we ended up arriving over an hour early because weren't sure about setup/bib collection/bag drop etc. arrangements.

This sort of admin info would be handy especially for newbies.

Otherwise great event, lovely vibes and friendly folk with a great spread of post-run snacks and treats. Highly recommend to any runner of any ability.

Oh and the medal was a bit crap

brilliant day. very well organised. suitable for everyone

The only thing I didn’t enjoy was having to run over the finish line then keep going and having to run back. Would have liked to stay on the canal then turn round to come back

Good course, excellent medal.

Fantastic day, however the half marathon was 300m too long

Very relaxed and well organised

Easy access to registration and parking. Lots of free goodies too, plenty of refreshments and marshals to help with questions.

Very friendly team and runners

I have completed two runs with IGUNR and I love the atmosphere. The events are quite small, with maybe 40-50 running the 10K. There are other distances run at the same time with staggered start times, but with different coloured numbers, it’s clear who is in your run. So many people on their own mission for charity, it’s a wholesome event.

First hundred yards a bit chaotic

Loved the race and events but first few hundreds is a bit chaotic as you get on the dirt track path as its not very wide. if you have runners coming in the opposite direction it's a bit tentative as no one's wants to slow down as such especially if where chasing PB's.

But other than that all good

great event i will defo do another grim race

Footpath behind cricket nets was tight for people running in both directions but the cricket club is such a nice venue

I will be back!

It was my first GUN run, I did the half marathon. The people were friendly and polite, the event was well organised and I enjoyed it. It was good value for money. The medal is awesome! I'll definitely be back next year.

GUN is a wonderful family that welcomes all

I’ve run many GUN marathons and loved them all. Yes at times it can feel very informal but that’s what I enjoy. The marshals are so supportive and as I’ve slowed down I appreciate the time they give. One aspect of the events has been the superb choice of food en route and especially at the end. So one small grouse is the charges for food at the end today. It took me by surprise and I had to be bailed out by a very kind runner who was near to the hatch.

Its a community

I absolutely love these events. I did quite a few a good few years ago but haven't more recently. I'm a regular runner bit still get so nervous with events to the point it spoils it. Today was a reminder that Grim Up North events don't give me that feeling. I loved it. My partner loved it. Due to a few health issues over the last 6 months we were no where near ready but decided to give it a go. We made it. The people you have supporting are amazing, friendly and encouraging. I think we'll become new regulars. Thank you.

Excellent venue

This race was a new venue for me
So a different stretch of the Leeds/Liverpool canal
Toilets provided always a plus. Busy route with walkers prams dogs & of course other runners which was challenging but a great atmosphere
The Grim team were very nice helpful & friendly even a high 5 from John at turn around point. Superb medal (they are legendary ) look forward to running my next Grim race and collecting another unique medal Big up to the Grim if you have never ran with Grim you are definitely missing out
