Yes ok, the event starts at a motorway service station, but not just any motorway service station this is Skelton services. A greener than green services and a must for any twitcher, that's bird watcher to you and me. Apparently there is a bird hide on the top of the services, where you can twitch to your hearts content. All the facilities within the services are available for the runners use. We also donate 50p to the RSPB for every runner.

The route start at the back of the services and runs around Rothwell Country Park, which is a lovely expanse of nature. Formers runners will tell you that from a particular undulation :-) on the course, you can get the most magnificient view of the surrounding area and a stunning view of Leeds City Centre.

The course is an absolute mixture of everything, trail, path, grass, woodland, 1 undulation, riverside, indeed it's one of my favourite courses. we have plenty of distances and a generous cut off time of 6.5 hours, so great for walkers and the speedy runners.

There are plenty of water and feed stations located throughout the course, to make sure you're fully hydrayted and caked up! You'll also meet some of our wonderful marshals along the course who'll give you lots of encouragement. All finshers will recieve a bespoke medal, lots of lovely cake and of course hot and cold drinks to wash it down with, you can't beat a cup of tea at the end of an event. We pride ourselves on enabling a social space so please stay and chat with us and your fellow runners.

Please note that bibs will be given out on the day of registration.

Car sharing would be ideal for this event. There is plenty of parking available which is of the free kind.

During the race important things to note:
We try to be cup-less: Our feed stations are normally around every three miles and offer drinks and a range of food, but please bring your own re-usable cup or bottle.

Headphones: Most of our courses are off-road, but we still prefer you not to wear earphones, and due to on-course incidents, we have taken the decision to ban large over-ear headphones. These block out any other sounds and don't allow runners to hear marshals, vehicles, or other users of the route. If you do need to wear earphones, then please use bone conducting earphones or "one in one out" in-ear pieces. Please note there may will be unmarshalled road crossings.

Transfers/Deferrals: You can self-serve your transfer or deferral on this website or “Let’s Do This,” depending on where you booked. Please try not to change your event or details on the day as it causes delays and queues at registration. Defers are only allowed up to 48 hours before the event, this you can do yourself online.
