Grim races are longer than a marathon

Grim races are always longer than a marathon aparently. 26.8miles. Important to know for first timers as you need to mentally prepare for running over another half mile.

Team were lush, however I wouldn't recommend this if it's your first marathon. There's a time limit and Marshalls had left the station by the time I was on my way back. I appreciate they are volunteers but it was a bit discouraging. I would do the half or a shorter distance, but unless youre super speedy or have done a few, the marathon probably isn't the one to try. But I am super proud of myself for doing it and the organisers gave us a cake at the end and were very kind to all the spectators.

Great, despite the rain!

Big "Thank You!" to the marshalls, not the easiest day.

What a lovely community

I appreciate the weather conditions weren’t friendly, but the drinks stations were very sparse and time consuming to grab one. It would be better if there was some ready made drinks to grab and a bin on the same table rather than having to wait / interrupt pace to have one poured for you. Small note- the medals could have had half marathon (or whatever distance) on as a more impactful memoire.

Thanks so much the community of people were amazing and so friendly. Thank you thank you thank you!! X
