Great event with friendly crew, beautiful route and fab food and drink options

I love Grim events. They feel like a more personal experience than big city events. There's always great food and drink options and plenty at the refuelling stations. Only thing today was the turnaround for the half on the second part of the route would have been too short at the top of the lock. We were advised to go on, but ended up doing 13.5 miles because there wasn't a marshalled turn around further on! Not a major problem in the grand scheme of things, I'm just glad we decided to turn back when we did!!

Will be back for more Grims in the future - definitely in my top three event providers.

Great race day for beginners and also runners wishing for race experience.

My first time at a Grim race, it was a different atmosphere to other races but still I enjoyed. The end foods and BIG medal great possible year on ribbon, but realise you have them mass produced. BUT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FOR RUNNERS

Fantastic morning!

This was a great event. My second Grim run.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful and I thought the organisation was great, for example clean toilets and being able to leave our bag in the van. Scenic out and back. Great medals and lots of freebies at the end. Just a shame I had no appetite! I'll definitely be back. Thank you.

A friendly race in great scenery, but may have benefited from slicker organisation

The event was really welcoming and a lovely location, however we felt the organisation could have been a bit better - we struggled to find clear directions to the event start, there was a small delay to the start due to a missing marshall and provision of water along the route was quite patchy - one of the marshalls had forgotten to bring cups and we didn't feel the water stops were that evenly spaced along the 10 mile route. There weren't many runners, which was good as it meant the towpath wasn't congested, but also meant there was less of an atmosphere. But we did have a really good time and there was a great offering of food and drink at the end!

A well organised event, with friendly marshals & suitable for all abilities.

Well done to all involved with putting this event on. A out & back run alongside the canal. Great medals & food at the end was like a picnic.

Would look out for grim up north events in future.

Full postcode and address to event on website with suggested nearby parking on race events page would help people out of area
