Brutal, but good.
I did the Half Marathon. It could have done with a few more way signs. I had to ask members of the public which way the runners went. All in all, i really enjoyed it.BB
Superb scenery made it a really enjoyable run
I'm sure it would have been different with a howling wind coming off the north sea, but on a calm day with glorious sunshine it was excellent. Well organised, with plenty of parking and a nice meal at the end. I get what others are saying re signage, but it was fine for me - I always had someone to follow.
Minor point - and it might be just me - but does anyone else feel the official times are from a random number generator rather than an actual clock? Mine was showing 5 mins longer than Garmin/phone.
Hot and challenging race
My first event and was not intimidating, very friendly with no egos like other races. Route was good, steps a killer but even with the heat the majority was shaded in the woods. Slightly better placement of some markers at junctions other than that great event. A welcome ice pop at the end!
Excellent way to spend a hot summer Sunday morning!
There were a few places where signage would have been helpful, at the top of the steps after the 1st water station and near the lighthouse. Otherwise a fantastic event.
Challenging but fun route with amazing scenery
I was put off the 10k this year due to it being 2 laps so opted for the half instead and it didn’t disappoint with amazing views, but it was pretty tough especially in the hot weather. I downloaded the route as advised which did help in areas where signposts weren’t that clear but still struggled at certain points. Not one to chase a pb just take it steady and enjoy the scenery. Will be back!
Very well organised and volunteers friendly ready to offer assistance.
This was my first Grim and not my last. I have been running for over forty years from 10k up to Marathon. Without doubt this was the hardest, most brutal and challenging run I’ve ever done. The course was definitely made harder by those demanding steps and the heat added to the torture. I’ll be recommending this to those in my club who like trails, hills and something to test their endurance.
Good experience
Needed more signs only downside apart from that fantastic
easily get lost
There weren’t enough signs, too many forks in the road and there was yellow tape down every fork in the path so it was very confusing and I got lost - I usually run at Sewerby too!!
Fun 5k just glad I didn't enter the 10k and have to do it twice
I understand a few signs were lost overnight and feel that was a shame as it got a bit confusing at some points , I was lucky enough to be able to follow someone, but we will be back for other events
Brilliant vibes, everyone friendly, runners and marshals
Absolutely stunning scenery, second to none!
Incredible scenery!
My first ever run and absolutely loved it! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, could possibly be a little more signage but I understand you’ve had issues at this venue before for them being moved. A tricky 10K with quite a few steps but if you paced yourself right it was very enjoyable!
Will definitely be back for 2026!
Brilliant Bridlington!
Just a fun event
Amazing views!
You know what you’re going to get with Grim and this run didn’t disappoint- friendly and supportive marshals and staff at the start and out on the course and INCREDIBLE views! Great snacks at the finish as ever. Thanks to everyone involved!
Not your typical race
I enjoyed this event as it was very different to others the scenery is lovely and the course is full of obstacles you wouldn't expect on most organised races. The negatives though my partner hated it the amount of steps and uneven surfaces to navigate whilst looking out for the signposts which was very poorly laid out so many competitors got lost or was going the wrong way totally this needs to improve in the future. Not a race for beginners or achieving P.Bs but if you like a challenge and just enjoy the events then sign up for next years.
Great event, challenging route, well organised
My only criticism would be not having enough signage out. There are definitely some areas of the 10km route that could be easily confusing and a simple arrow sign would make it clearer for runners
Very enjoyable
Could of done with a 2nd water station on 10k on course due to today's temps
Tough but fun
Lots of hills, some with steps making a tough trail course with lovely scenery
