Event

Kirkstall Abbey Trail run was the race that launched Its Grim Up North Running and for obvious reasons is very precious to us.
During Covid 19 we have had to cancel the usual Kirkstall event and in a quest to keep people running came up with a new name 'We Nearly Ran Kirkstall' and rerouted to our regular route on the Leeds to Liverpool canal , sadly once again we were beaten by the bug.

So here we are with Plan C. 2 routes 2 dates and 2 totally undefeated ladies that own and love Its Grim Up North Running determined to keep you race fit and keep Grim alive .
Plan A- We will hold the Kirkstall trail running festival using the original route around the trails of Kirkstall
we will hold the event over 2 days and there will be the usual four distances (Ultra, Marathon HM and 8.8 miles) A staggered approach to starts will be used.
Plan B- In the event of Covid numbers preventing the usual route (due to council rules) we will move the event to the canal, the same distances will be on offer and we will have the same staggered approach to start times.
In the frustrating situation that the dreadful Covid curse continues to cause issues the whole weekend will be moved to April 24th and 25th. For both routes runners will be rewarded with a bespoke medal a 'pie and a pint 'to take home.
So here we have it -4 distances ,2 routes, 2 dates, 2 Northern lasses (who won't be beaten) a team of amazing marshals and a whole load of fabulous runners, we've got this !!
