love the route along canal, easy to get to. A favourite event would do it again

It's always a pleasure to run with It's Grim Up North - a low-key, friendly, helpful bunch who really look after their runners. Hot food, cider, cake and sweets all available at the finish line in abundance. Friendly marshals, inclusive atmosphere.

Really good selection of food / snacks and drinks. Very friendly and well organised runs.

Well organised, fab marshals and great communication. Great event for anyone wanting to try a different distance.

Thought the move of the registration place was better, however I would still consider having a portaloo at the start/finish just for those doing the longer distances in case nature calls as there was nowhere to go on the race. As normal the feed station where fab as was the finish one.

What a lovely event, well organised, friendly volunteers, a lovely run, and a sausage sandwich. What else do you want!?

Really liked the registration over the road, great loos!
There's not many marathons that you can finish, be given a bacon sandwich, and have a 5min wander back to your car with a medal and a warm fuzzy feeling. No stress, no hassle just good running.
So glad I chose this race for my first marathon. Not just a flat course, and pretty spot on weather for running, but all of the above as well.
